We transplanted the strawberries and raspberries today. I will need a whole lot more but this is a good start.
Last year a church near Bognor created a community garden. I got some raspberries from my brother-in-law and put them in there. Now they are in my Shiloh garden.
The strawberries are from a patch I started in Paisley from plants I got from a friend. They are earlier than any I know of, and the taste is phenomenal.
I took some with me to the house we bought when we left Paisley. Then when we left and went to work on a reserve up north, we sold that house and I wasn't able to take any with me. When we came back I didn't really have any place to put them.
When I found out about the community garden I went back to our old house and asked if I could have a few plants. They had gotten rid of the strawberry patch, but I found a handful of survivors in the lawn.
I took these and planted them at the community garden. They multiplied last year, and today I had thirty-five plants to start my new strawberry patch at Shiloh. I also started some ever-bearing strawberries last year, and those will go in next. Now I need to find some late strawberries.
Slowly, and with the help of the Lord, it will all come together.
